Here is today's conversation on the way home from school:
Cavett: Mom, open that window up above. (Speaking of the sunroof.)
Mom: It's too cold.
Cavett: Why?
Mom: It just is.
Cavett: But why?
Mom: It's winter and that means it's cold outside. (Now, I'm thinking, "usually." I know just yesterday we were in shorts.)
Cavett: That's not a reason. I need a reason.
Mom: It's just winter time and God made it that way. We just have to accept what He gives us. We can't change the weather.
Cavett: That's not right.......(thinking)......I'm going to plan the weather when we get home.
Mom: (thinking--I guess I watch too much weather channel.)
Cavett also received a "drawing" today from a little girl in his class. We don't know this girl very well, but she lives around the corner. While we were playing outside with another girlfriend, her Mom drove up and the little girl got out of the car and said, "I drew this for you, Cavett!" He accepted it with pride and then asked me, "What is it?" I said that it was a drawing and asked him what he thought it was. He decided that it was a "Pirate Treasure Map." As the family was turning around in the cul de sac, he yells, "Thanks for the Treasure Map!" and waves.
It was all so sweet and precious. If I have to give him away eventually, I hope that she sees the goodness in his heart like this little girl does.

That is precious! Was it really a picture of a treasure map?
I want to change the weather too!
And my son draws pics for a girl in his class every single day. Several times.
Cavett must be the one responsible for today's beautiful weather. What a guy!
