Gingerbread House

I don't make gingerbread houses on my own. I tend to find a place that is hosting and supplying everything we need and that will also clean up the mess after we have destroyed the place with sticky, gloppy sugary stuff. So, when I was flipping through the cooking school brochure at Market Street in McKinney, I found the perfect class.

Advent Befun

The title was a mis-type, but after seeing it I deciede to leave it. Instead of "begun", it definitely "be-fun." Ghetto, I know. *sigh* Brenda encouraged me to write about each of our advent activities from my post on Sunday. Here goes...
Today's was making gingerbread cookies (link contains recipe). Cavett helped me mix up the dough using some of my grandmother's left over spices. We played a little chess while the dough was chilling and Kendrick was still snoozing, but as soon as he was up we started cutting. Kendrick wore his Heizer cousin's cow apron hand-me-down and Cavett chose the Home Depot apron. All went well until Kendrick decided that the dough tasted good. We still were able to get 3 trays full. On Thursday, we will take a meal and some of the cookies to a friend who just had baby number 3.
So, there you have it. 1 down, 24 to go.....
