A Budding Artist

Cavett isn't into drawing, but since we have been reading, Library Mouse by Daniel Kirk, he has taken a bit more interest. He wrote an autobiography of sorts and sent it to Nana. Just about all he likes to draw is "roller coasters" and "zig-zags", but every now and then we get a self portrait. Yesterday it was on the windows with window crayons. We have to be careful to do this activity when Kendrick isn't around, because Kendrick loves to draw, especially on walls. What he drew is a whole body picture and then just a big face. Hard see, but very cute.

Self-Portraits

Cavett decided to color today. Just within the past few days his coloring has changed. What was random scribbles went from straight lines and circles to self-portraits. He isn't into the faces so much as he is about the neck, arms, hands, legs, socks and shoes. As he draws each part, he names it out loud. He is also interested in naming the colors. Yes, he has known the obvious colors since he could speak, but I'm talking colors like magenta and teal.

I was beginning to wonder if he would ever be interested in drawing. Usually, he makes one mark and is done. Finally, we have reached another milestone.
