Karate Kids

Tonight was testing at Karate.  It happens once every 8 weeks.

Since Kendrick started Karate at the end of April, this was his first belt testing.  Last week we really didn't think he was ready, but his teachers had confidence and he pulled through showing off all his moves with confidence for the most part.

I think he was truly proud of himself and I know that Stephen and I were as well as Grandmama who was able to join us for the evening.

Cavett earned his 4th belt tonight-the yellow.

Upon completion of the white belt, the kids in the class get to hang up a black belt in front of their picture encouraging them on toward that goal.

No karate kid is complete with out the headband!

Way to go Cavett and Kendrick!
We are so proud of you and your accomplishments, not only on the mat, but in the classroom, at home and on the potty!!!!

Hey, Jennifer, that is AWESOME! Way to go, boys!

PS I have sure missed you commenting on my new blog site. I know life can get hectic. I haven't been commenting as much as I used to. However, I would love it if you get a moment or two between now and Friday to stop over and comment...not only to hear from you...but it is also for a fantastic cause. I have called it my Smile Project! I'm sure you have seen me talking about it on FB, but for every comment on ANY/ALL of my blog posts from May 15th - now, I am donating $1 to both Operation Smile and Smile Train in honor of Will's surgery (which is this Friday). I wanted to use my blog as a platform to raise awareness for this great cause as it has affected our household two-fold (I was also born with a cleft palate). The new blog address is www.scoopofreality.com (without the blogspot). Again, I have missed hearing from you and I hope all is well and your summer is going great! Once Will's healing is underway, we need to get together again for a playdate or something this summer!
